Frequently Asked Questions
What are Allergy Elimination Techniques?
Allergy elimination therapies have been around since 1983. BioSET and NAET are two techniques used here at Clear Path Acupuncture. Both techniques work to clear allergies from your body.
What do Allergy Elimination Techniques do?
Allergy elimination techniques use a gentle technique to work with your body’s own energy and clear away allergens and imbalances.
What can Allergy Elimination Techniques treat?
Allergy elimination techniques can treat a variety of conditions. They can effectively eliminate food, pet and environmental allergies, as well as help to correct hormone and nutrient imbalances. They can also identify imbalances with digestive enzymes which can then be treated.
What if I hate needles?
The placement of acupuncture needles can be useful in treating a variety of conditions and is often used in combination with allergy elimination techniques. However, BioSET and NAET can also be used without needles and are therefore excellent for children and people adverse to needles.
How long will I stay free of the allergies that we cleared?
Most of the time that allergies are permanently cleared. Since hormones and viruses change, those may have to be cleared at a later time. Since certain events, such as pregnancy can create changes in the body, some allergens may have to be cleared again following those events.
What do I need to know about my first appointment?
You can expect your first appointment to last for an hour and a half to two hours long. Subsequent appointments will be closer to one hour long. You may be encouraged to avoid certain allergens or make certain dietary changes for a decided time period following your appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
While Clear Path Acupuncture is a “pay at time of service” clinic, we can offer paper billing which can be submitted by the patient for reimbursement if their insurance provider will cover all or part of the visit. It is up to the patient to inquire with their carrier.
Are there any side effects from the treatment sessions?
Generally the most common side effect is profound relaxation. On occasion there can be lightheadedness or drowsiness after a treatment which passes quickly and is aided by drinking water. Very rarely patients can have a slight “detox reaction” which can result in headache or stomach upset, or a slight temporary increase of there symptoms, (like allergies) followed by an improvement later.
How long does it take to see improvement?
This answer depends on the condition and the length of time it has occurred, however Dr. Baum generally sees some positive results in as little as three sessions and often patients experience improvement on the first treatment.
How long do I need to see Dr. Baum?
This depends on the patient and there goals. Generally, Russell will work with his patients over the course of at least 8 to 10 sessions in all but the most acute conditions. Wellness is not a quick “fix” like taking a pill. That said, as the relationship with the patient, practitioner, and their body develops the need for follow-up sessions will become less frequent. Many of Dr. Baum’s patients over the years have developed long-term relationships with “wellness”, meaning that they still come in for occasional checkups or seasonal “tune-ups”, but don’t need to come nearly as often as the initial sessions.
